2020 M2B Ambassadors
Edward "Brett" Copeland is excited to once again return as a M2B ambassador. He began distance running in 2011 while on active duty Air Force and has since completed One 50K, 11 marathons, 35 half marathons, and numerous races at shorter distances. He recorded his two fastest marathon times at Mountains 2 Beach in 2014 and 2015. This course is one of his favorites for training and racing in the area. See you at the finish line beer garden!
Mother runner of two little boys who loves to run here in Ventura County. My fastest marathon times have always been at Mountains 2 Beach. 2020 is going to be my third year running. I am excited to return to this beautiful course and run another year chipping away at my time to qualify for the Boston Marathon. This is a picturesque course that is downhill and fast. Follow along with my training on Instagram @retrorunningmom and I hope to see you in May.
As a personal trainer and massage therapist, I have worked with numerous athletes and weekend warriors. 20 years ago I accidentally got into this career and I couldn’t be happier. Over the years I have helped people realize the freedom running gives you. It is important to take time for yourself while enjoying the outdoors and company of others without distraction. This is my 2nd marathon and first one as a new mom. I am the person that said she would never do a marathon. So here we are and I can’t wait to meet you and be your ambassador. Over the years I have done numerous triathlons, half marathons, 10k’s and 5k’s so we’ll have lots to talk about.
Excited to be back for the 4th straight year. I will be running the marathon this year. This course is where I currently hold my personal best. The goal this year will be to go faster. Let's train hard, have fun, enjoy the process, and get a huge PR in May. Look forward to meeting a lot of new runners this year. Follow me on Instagram and ask any questions you may have. @running_victor
I feel like I have been running my whole life, and that without it, my journey would have been a completely different one. Growing up in Escondido, CA, I found myself exploring distance running at Orange Glen High School, and literally found my happy place. While I loved running, I had not challenged myself beyond the random half marathon or 5K here and there. In 2017, I decided to throw a marathon on my schedule and the fire for distance running was reignited, and it's just compounded from there. Since 2017, I've run the Santa Clarita Marathon, Los Angeles Marathon, San Francisco Marathon and the New York Marathon as part of Team ULTRA. My ultimate goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon before I turn 40 in 2020, and keep adding races to the bucket list!I am so honored to be an ambassador for the 2020 Mountain 2 Beach Marathon!Find me on Instagram @N8I
I am a lifelong athlete who began running regularly in college for triathlons, and have been taking on the challenge of marathons for the past 10 years. I ran M2B a few years ago and found the race to be so much fun that I am using it as my shot at a BQ this year. Although I live in the Seattle area, I went to college at UCSB and spent time in Ventura enjoying the beaches and am looking forward to returning for the race this May! My name is Rafael and it is an honor to be named an ambassador for the 2020 Mountains2Beach marathon and half marathon races. M2B is a great race, a very scenic course, and is one of the top BQ races in the country. M2B is very special to me as I have been involved with the race since it started: running the half marathon the first few years and then the marathon last year, as well as having been an ambassador the past couple of years. I got a PR at last year’s marathon and I am aiming to better that this year. I may not be a BQ-fast runner but I’m hoping to break 4 hours at this year’s race, fingers crossed. Come join me and a couple thousand runners in running the M2B races. IG: @LPARafael
Hello! I am so excited to be your 2020 M2B Ambassador. I love running and can’t seem to get enough. This will be my 4th consecutive year running M2B. The fast course, smell of orange orchards, beach, and BQs keep bringing me back. Last year I ran a 3:09 (a six minute personal record!) This year, I’m setting my goals high for another PR! I’m ready to train harder and smarter. If you have any questions about the course or training, please reach out. You can follow my training on Strava and IG: @janelp9 See you in May!
I’m a Mexican runner enthusiast, I love running around the world, I consider this the best way to go around the globe and discover new places. I consider myself lucky to run the 2020 cliff mountains to beach marathon again where I achieve one of my dreams that was a BQ last year! This is an incredible course with such amazing views and such great organization that left a very positive mark in me. I encourage everyone to join the marathon because I’m positive that we all can improve and achieve things we didn’t think possible by running, follow me on Instagram @dnisserz to find that motivation and some training tips!
"Hello, RedheadRunner here! I'm so excited to be back again as your 2020 M2B Ambassador. I love this race and love the community involvement from Ojai all the way down to the beach in Ventura. I feel extremely lucky to have a top 10 BQ Marathon in my backyard. The weather is wonderful and the running community always comes out to support this race. The course is lined with family members and past/present unicorn spectators supporting us BQ hopefuls and I've have had great success qualifying for Boston with this race. I've had the amazing opportunity to cross the Boston Marathon finish line twice, see some amazing back-country in ultra-marathons, as well as race down the red carpet and hear Mike Riley yell "you are an IRONMAN" at the Santa Rosa Ironman. I've been extremely fortunate with my experiences and want to help others achieve their dreams. Through my running business RedHeadRunner, I help runners come out of injury and back on the road where they want to be by video analysis and movement education. I'll be leading a quick stretch session at the morning shakeout run with my fellow ambassadors the Saturday before the race. Be sure to say hi and follow me on IG: redheadrunner_hpc .
